This is a very good quality English Art Deco period lidded Box, of wood with an inlaid "Sunburst" pattern, dating to circa 1925.
The box has a rectangular shape with a fitted lid, with slightly chamfered edges where the box meets the lid. It is well made of wood with veneers to all the external surfaces apart from the base. The main feature of this box is the "Sunburst" veneered top which is made using different veneers of satinwood, fruitwood and walnut and is a typical Art Deco period feature.. This box has a very "in-period" Art Deco design, the Sunburst being a typical Art Deco design feature.
This box has a variety of uses, such as jewelry or trinkets on the desk or dressing table.
