This is a beautiful, fairly tall 31+cm, Chinese Export, blue and white porcelain Baluster Vase, which we date to the 19th century, Qing Tongzhi period, Circa 1870.
This is a well hand potted piece with a very good baluster shape, with a short neck and a very white glaze. The vase has been very well hand decorated in different shades of cobalt blue in a lovely free flowing manner with waterside fishing scenes having temples, pagodas, bridges, trees, mountains and various figures in different settings. There are numerous border patterns, both around the neck and upper shoulder and around the foot rim. The overall effect is very distinctive and highly decorative. The base is hand painted with a four character Qing mark in cobalt blue.
Overall, a beautifully hand decorated Chinese blue and white Vase.
