Description

This is a hand painted Chinese Export porcelain dish, which we date to the 17th century, Ming Dynasty, Tianqi or Chongzhen c.1620-1640
The dish is fairly thickly potted with a fairly high, slightly undercut foot and a wavy indented rim.
The dish is beautifully decorated with a typical aquatic scene, in varying shades of under-glaze cobalt blue with a central flying bird, then an outer water side scene having three people including a a fisherman, with mountains in the back ground, and a geometric outer border.
There is a square seal to the base with other blue circles and three markings/ motifs hand painted to the outer rim.
