This is a very decorative PAIR of Side Plates by Mason's Ironstone, Lane Delph, England in the Oriental Pheasant pattern, dating to the early period of Mason's ironstone, circa 1818.

Both plates are circular in shape with a notched rim and decorated in one of Mason's most vividly coloured and sought after chinoiserie patterns, the "Oriental Pheasant" pattern, as documented on page 120 of; A Guide to Mason's Patent Ironstone Patterns, circa 1813-1848, published by The Masons Collectors' club.

The pattern would have been transfer printed then hand-painted in bold enamels, with a particularly colourful and distinctive border design. The bases have the large crown and banner mark printed in blue, dating them to the early 19th century, circa 1813 to 1820.
