These are a set of EIGHT Delft wall tiles, all with hand painted blue and white scenes of Children playing different games, made in the Netherlands during the 19th century.
The tiles are ceramic, made of earthenware pottery and nominally about 5.2 inches square.
The set of Eight blue and white wall tiles are individually hand-painted with different scenes. The scenes comprise views of Children playing different outdoor games, which include spinning tops, hoops, skipping, piggyback, toy sailing boat, ball throwing etc. The tiles have spider motifs in blue, painted to each corner.
We date this set of tiles to the mid 19th century.
None of the tiles have been restored.
This is a very decorative set and could be individually framed and hung or displayed as a group and used as feature tiles in a tiled wall etc.
Condition: Overall good for their age. The condition of the Tiles varies, with some edge nibbling /chipping. NO Cracks and NO Restoration. Please see Images.
