Description

This is a very fine hard paste porcelain Tea Bowl and Saucer by New Hall, dating to the 18th century, George 111rd period, circa 1785.
Both pieces have 24 vertical flutes.
Both pieces are decorated over-glaze with a hand gilded gold painted pattern number 142, showing a central floral sprig and a lovely interlocking continuous gilded feather border pattern on both bowl and saucer. A cup in this pattern is shown in Michael Berthoud's book; A Compendium of British Cups, page 16.
Both pieces are unmarked to the base as was often the case.
Overall a fine early New Hall Duo in beautiful condition.
