This is a very good hand painted Mason's ironstone Desert Plate, in the Pink Rose On Stem with Rock gilded pattern, from their earliest George IIIrd period, circa 1818.

The piece is well potted with a circular shape having a wavy edge and ribbed radial form.

It is well hand painted in the recorded chinoiserie pattern called the: Pink Rose on Stem with Rock pattern, showing large pink and burnt orange flowers emanating from a grassy base with a large blue rock. The pattern is hand enamelled, over-glaze in bold colors, with gold gilding highlights. There is a colourful chain border in burnt orange and gold to the central flower, the fence and the outer rim pattern. This is a rarely seen pattern and is fully illustrated in Masons pattern book, page 141, published by The Masons Collectors' Club The piece is fully marked to the base with a Mason's single line impressed mark stating: Masons Patent ironstone China, which dates this piece to circa 1818.

Overall a very decorative Plate in a free flowing, hand painted pattern, in great condition.
