Description

This is a good and very decorative porcelain footed bowl, hand-painted in polychrome enamels and dating to the later part of the 19th century, circa 1870, Meiji period.
The bowl is circular and well hand potted on a low foot.
This bowl is beautifully hand decorated over glaze in bold polychrome enamels; externally with three alternating floral scenes in panels and internally with a central blue and white landscape scene, with outer borders, then around the sides with a 5-toed dragon and a phoenix, which lead to an inner rim border pattern.
The dragon and the phoenix are particularly well hand painted.
The base carries a painter or makers mark hand painted in iron red.
