This is a Large 10.6 inch diameter Chinese Export porcelain footed Bowl with hand painted Imari decoration, which we date to the second half of the 18th Century, Qing period, circa 1770.

 

This bowl is well potted on a fairly high foot. The glaze is white with a slight blue tinge.

 

It is well hand decorated to the outside with an interesting continuous "Imari" pattern of twisted panels, using various shades of underglaze blue having all gilded floral decoration, alternating with panels of further floral decoration in various shades of over-glaze burnt orange/red colour, mauve and gold. There is an upper over-glaze hand painted border in burnt orange and gold The painting has been carried out in a free flowing style. The base is unmarked.

 

Overall a large diameter 18thC Chinese porcelain Bowl.

     Overall good. Three old tight hairlines from the rim. One small chip to foot-rim. Some kiln grit and firing fault to inner base from kiln. Some gilding loss. NO RESTORATION Please See the Images.
