This is a rare hand blown drinking glass with a most unusual stem having a colored cranberry glass ball knop and further cut detail, made in England during the mid Victorian period of the 19th century, circa 1860.

The glass is hand blown with a good trumpet bowl having seven panel cut flutes over a stem with an annular knife knop above a cranberry colored and facet cut ball knop with a single cranberry thread dropping from the ball knop down to the base of the stem. The stem sits on a thick slightly conical foot with a star cut base.

We consider this drinking glass to be very rare and in all the many years we have dealt in English drinking glasses we have never seen another glass with this type of colored cranberry knop set within a normal clear lead glass drinking glass!

Overall a very attractive and rare English drinking glass from the mid-19th century.
